Samajwadi Party boss and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday dismissed any dispute with the Congress and reiterated there will be alliance with the grand old party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to reporters, Akhilesh Yadav said that everything will be out and clear soon and maintained there is no dispute (with the Congress).

“Yes, there will be an alliance. There is no conflict. Everything will be out and clear soon… All is well that ends well…,” Yadav said when reporters asked him about skipping Rahul Gandhi’s yatra.

Earlier this month, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had invited Akhilesh Yadav to join the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and share stage with Rahul Gandhi during a public rally at National Inter College in Chandauli’s Saiyadraja on February 16.

However, Yadav skipped the Yatra when it entered Uttar Pradesh earlier this month. His party said that he will take part in the yatra only after a seat sharing agreement is reached.

According to sources, Samajwadi Party had earlier offered Congress 11 seats in Uttar Pradesh. However, the Congress rejected the offer and sought more seats.

After further negotiations, the Samajwadi Party offered 17 seats to the Congress but the grand old party is said to have not agreed as yet.

Reports claimed that both parties have failed reach consensus on three seats – Ballia, Moradabad, and Bijnor.

It is being said that Congress wanted these three seats but Samajwadi Party is not ready to give any of that and the seat-sharing talks reached a dead end.

The Congress party, as per the sources, have asked for 24 seats that it won in 2009 general elections.
