Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has alleged that BJP leaders were not speaking on the losses Indian exporters are incurring as a result of steep hike in tariffs imposed by the US on India.

“It seems the US tariffs have shut the mouths of BJP leaders as well. Due to the imposition of US tariff, Bhadohi carpet, Moradabad brasswares, exports from Meerut, Saharanpur, and other places have started facing losses. This will render artisans unemployed and hit the economy hard,” he claimed.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Akhilesh Yadav said, “If the US is strengthening its economy, then the Indian government should also think of saving its economy and should take a decision accordingly. In the BJP government, the slogan of Swadeshi is only in words while Make in India has been ruined.”

Commenting on the reduction of GST rates, the SP president said, “Now, the question arises who benefited from the implementation of the GST ever since the government implemented it. Wrong policies of the government resulted in galloping inflation with prices of everything soaring.”

He further claimed that even reducing the slab of the GST would not bring down inflation because those who have got into the habit of profiteering will not reduce prices.

Akhilesh Yadav said that BJP’s thinking is hegemonic as it oppresses and exploits the PDA community. “The BJP does negative politics to spoil social harmony. BJP people have a lot of ill-will against PDA. Only when the BJP government goes, inflation will reduce, development will happen, the poor will get treatment, and injustice and atrocities will end too,” he claimed.
