Neelam Meena becomes new CEO of West Bengal

The Election Commission of India( ECI) has approved the proposal for the delimitation of polling stations based on 1200 voters per polling station in 403 assembly constituencies across 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh.
State Chief Electoral Officer( CEO) Navdeep Rinwa stated here on Tuesday night that the process of delimitation of polling stations in the state commenced on October 29, 2025. The proposals received from the District Election Officers of all 75 districts were sent to the Election Commission of India for approval on November 24, 2025.

The ECI had given its approval on December 23 last.

Rinwa, further stated that the number of polling stations in the state was 162,486, which has increased to 177,516 after the delimitation, representing an increase of 15,030 polling stations. Last year, in 2024, the delimitation of polling stations was done based on 1500 voters per polling station.
Due to the increase in the number of polling stations, additional Booth Level Officers will be deployed at the newly created 15,030 polling stations.
The draft electoral roll under the special intensive revision, based on the qualifying date of January 1, 2026, will be published at the new polling stations on January 6, 2026.
