Adani Dhamra Port successfully completed the unloading of steel slabs from the vessel M.V. HTK Neptune swiftly loaded over 2,900 metric tonnes (133 slabs) into 45 BFNS wagons setting a new benchmark, said the port officials on Friday.
The vessel brought in 35,000 metric tonnes of high-quality steel slabs, marking the port’s first-ever steel slab import. The cargo, belonging to Jindal Stainless Limited, is en route to the company’s Kalinganagar plant.

To commemorate this milestone, a ceremonial event was held at the port, where Basuki Nath, Head – HR & IR, flagged off the steel slab-loaded train. Senior port officials including Chinmay Dash, Head – Rail Operations, and Bibhudatta Ray, Head – Cargo Operations, along with other key leaders, were present to witness the historic occasion. The port authority extended heartfelt gratitude to its dedicated workforce, stakeholders, and partners, whose collaborative efforts made this success possible.

This accomplishment underscores Dhamra Port’s growing capabilities in diversified cargo handling and its vital role in strengthening India’s industrial logistics network, they added.
