UIDAI had clarified in its letter dated October 31, 2025, that the date of birth recorded in Aadhaar is not verified by the authority and therefore cannot be used as proof of date of birth.

The letter also stated that complaints are still being received that some departments are still accepting the Aadhaar card as the proof of date of birth. Taking this matter seriously, the government has reiterated that this document will not be accepted as proof of date of birth in any state government department.

In this regard, the government has directed all officials concerned to ensure that their departments comply with this order and that the Aadhaar card is not accepted as proof of date of birth at any level.
