Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that Congress and the INDIA bloc were intended to send out a strong message to the country against the “theft of votes (Vote Chori)”, an unprecedented act he had ever heard of.
“What is happening in the country is a serious development, it is a threat to democracy. For instance, in Bihar 60 lakh voters have so far been deleted from the revised electoral rolls and not even a single name added,” the senior Congress leader alleged.

Rahul Gandhi has submitted the relevant ‘Vote Chori’ data. However, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is still demanding an affidavit from him, Gehlot noted.
Since it never happened in the past, Congress President Malikarjun Kharge, LoP Gandhi, Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav, and other prominent leaders held a demonstration in New Delhi against this “Vote Chori”.
“As part of this stir, today we in the Congress are holding a protest march and demonstration at the Shaheed Memorial here to press up on our demand against this “Vote Chori”.
Later, the three-time ex-CM participated in the march from the PCC headquarters here to the demonstration venue at the Shaheed Memorial.
Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan assembly Tika Ram Jully, AICC General and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, Party state president Govind Singh Dotasra and several MPs, MLAs and other prominent leaders also participated in the protest march.
At the venue of the demonstration, LoP Jully and party state president Dotasra sought people’s support in the fight being waged by Gandhi. They said Gandhi raised voice and submitted his contention over the issue with evidence. He, in fact, is raising our voice, it is the common man’s fight as his or her rights are being stolen.
“The theft of vote, is the theft of right; the theft of the identity,” they said, exhorting people to join in Gandhi’s fight for defending one’s identity, defending one’s right to vote.
