At least six persons were killed and several others injured after a private sleeper coach collided with a truck trailer near Sarwadi village in Balotra district of Rajasthan on the Jodhpur–Barmer Highway on Friday afternoon.
According to police officials, the ill-fated bus, carrying more than 30 passengers, was travelling from Jodhpur to Balotra when it rammed into a trailer moving ahead of it from behind. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the bus extensively damaged.

Police personnel and senior district administration officials rushed to the accident site soon after receiving information and launched rescue operations.

The injured passengers were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were sent to the mortuary at Balotra Hospital, police sources said. Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
