Ajay Tamta said “Road going towards Adi Kailash near Chiyalekh between Bumdi amd Gunji is dangerous as the hills above it are weak and unstable. Detailed Project Report (DPR) to a construct 5.4 kilometers tunnel is being prepared. Construction of tunnel will begin once DPR is ready and stamped by the centre.”
Tamta stated that the Road ahead Gunji has now been extended close to China border. “The road built on harsh geographical terrain near Chiyalekh enroute Kailash Mansarovar and Adi Kailash pilgrimage centres is dangerous. Heavy vehicles are unable to move on this road. This has resulted into the decision to construct tunnel up to Gunji. The tunnel will do away with the risk of travelling on this hostile part of the mountainous road. Tunnel construction will also reduce around 80 kilometers journey between Dharcjula and Gunji by 22 kilometers” said Ajay Tamta.
