Elections to all 309 civic bodies in Rajasthan will be held simultaneously later this year.

The Directorate of Local Bodies (DLB) announced this on Tuesday following clearance and detailed directives from the Rajasthan High Court, which has been hearing petitions on the issue of “one state, one election” and related aspects.

Accordingly, the revision of electoral rolls in 113 civic bodies will begin on April 13, 2026, and be completed on May 8, 2026, with the publication of final voter lists.

These 113 local bodies are spread across about 40 cities and towns, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer, Nagaur, Tonk, Bhilwara, Bikaner and Sriganganagar.

The schedule of the electoral process, polling and other details will be announced later, an official spokesperson said.

Elections to these bodies and panchayat raj institutions are overdue, as the terms of these civic bodies expired last year on different dates. The opposition Congress and other political groups had been pressing for early elections. However, the ruling BJP was contemplating holding polls under the “one state, one election” framework.
