In a hit-and-run case, two sisters and their cousin were killed when a speeding bus hit their motorcycle in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh Tuesday morning.

According to the police, the mishap occurred at the Ajaygarh bypass road.

The deceased were identified as Karan Adivasi (19) from Chint village and his two cousins Anjali (13), and Anarkali (10).

The trio had gone to the Mata Temple at Badi Devan to pay obeisance to the deity in the morning, kotwali Inspector Rohit Mishra said.

When they were returning from the temple, a bus travelling from Chhatarpur to Panna hit their bike, critically injuring the three of them.

They were taken to a hospital but the doctors declared them dead.

The driver fled from the scene. The police impounded the bus and search is on for the driver.
