160 fall ill after dinner at wedding ceremony in MP village, food poisoning suspected

More than 160 people fell ill with suspected food poisoning after dinner at a wedding ceremony in a village of Sehore district in Madhya Pradesh late night Wednesday. The incident was reported from village Bawadiya-Noabad in the Ichhawar tehsil of the district.

Most of the affected persons developed symptoms of stomach ache, vomiting, and diarrhoea. They started pouring into the Ichhawar Community Health Centre from Wednesday night.

Doctors there alerted the senior Health Department officials. Subsequently, teams of doctors, nurses and paramedics were rushed to the community health centre.

The doctors informed that all of the affected persons were treated and are all out of danger.

State Revenue Minister Karan Singh Verma, the MLA from Ichawar, also reached the spot. He appreciated the efforts of the medical teams and the administration for taking effective care of the affected persons.
