The sound of silence feels heavier today in Assam. Streets that once echoed with Zubeen Garg’s songs are now full of sorrow. Fans who grew up listening to his voice, and families who felt his music in their homes are all united in grief. Assam is saying goodbye to its most loved voice, Zubeen Garg.
Zubeen, one of the most popular singers from the region, tragically passed away on September 19 in Singapore during a scuba diving accident. He was there to take part in the Northeast India Festival.
