Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer forthcoming film, Gully Boy, which is inspired by the street rappers, has impressed the audience with its recently released trailer. Social media users cannot stop talking about the film while a few scenes from the trailer have also been turned into memes by fervent netizens.
Amid the memes taking over the internet, a video of the mashup of Gully Boy and Eminem’s 8 Mile has also caught the attention of the masses. The popular rapper’s 2002 released film 8 Mile is based on Eminem’s journey from rags to riches. Fans have been drawing similarities between the Bollywood story and the American film directed by Curtis Hanson.

Recently, at the trailer launch of the film, the lead actor Ranveer Singh had claimed that only he could have pulled off the role.
“When somebody told me about the script of ‘Gully Boy’, I told them that it is my film. If any other actor would have been a part of this film instead of me then I would have got burnt with jealousy. I was born to do ‘Gully Boy’ and I knew only I can pull off this character,” he said.
Gully Boy is a story inspired by slum rappers of Dharavi, particularly Divine and Naezy.
The Zoya Akhtar directorial marks the first collaboration of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt on the big screen. The film also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Kalki Koechlin in pivotal roles.
Co-produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, Gully Boy will be released on February 14 in India.
