Veteran Tollywood star Krishna dies at the age of 80. He was admitted to the hospital on Monday after suffering a Mild cardiac arrest and today he breathed his last after succumbing to respiratory issues and multi-organ failure at 2 am.
Ghattamnaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy aka Krishna is also the father to popular Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu.
This year has been very hard for Mahesh Babu as he lost his brother Ramesh Babu in January, and mother in September, and now his superstar father Krishna Ghattamaneni.

As the word spread about Krishna’s death, tributes poured in from all over. Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the sad demise of Krishna. Taking to his Twitter account, he posted a throwback pic of himself with Superstar Krishna. Calling it an end of a film era, the politician offered his condolences saying it has been a tough year for Mahesh Babu.

The native of Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, has five children with Indira Devi (1952- 2022); two sons—Ramesh Babu and Mahesh Babu, and three daughters—Padmavathi, Manjula and Priyadarshini. Ramesh Babu was a film producer while Mahesh Babu is one of the highest-paid actors in Telugu cinema. His daughter Manjula is also a filmmaker in Tollywood. Actor Sudheer Babu is married to his youngest daughter Priyadarshini. Krishna later married to Vijaya Nirmala (1946–2019) whom he met on the sets of ‘ Sakshi‘ (1967) and has worked in over 40 films together.
