Television’s golden queens, Smriti Irani and Sakshi Tanwar, recently reunited and the internet can’t stop smiling. The two superstars, who ruled Indian TV screens in the early 2000s as Tulsi Virani from ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ and Parvati Agarwal from ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki’, shared a heartfelt moment that sent fans straight down memory lane.

“Grace, grit, and gorgeousness – there are many adjectives I can ascribe to Sakshi,” she wrote. “But what I can’t describe is how it felt to embrace the memory and reality of her after 2.5 decades of camaraderie. We didn’t know the ruckus Tulsi and Parvati created, for we were not chasing history; we happened to make it while chasing excellence.”
Smriti went on to call Sakshi a “loving mother, a doting daughter, and an authentic human being,” adding that she’s someone “who can make even silences speak.”
In the picture, both actors are dressed in elegant sarees reminiscent of their iconic on-screen avatars, Tulsi and Parvati.
And now, after years of fan requests, the two matriarchs are returning to the small screen together. ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2’ is ready for a special crossover episode with ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki’. Sakshi and Kiran Karmarkar will reprise their roles as Parvati and Om Agarwal. Smriti and Amar Upadhyay will return as Tulsi and Mihir Virani.
The timing couldn’t be more perfect. This October marks the 25th anniversary of ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki’, a show that, along with ‘Kyunki’, dominated prime-time television.
