On Sunday, Swift unveiled the music video for ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, the lead single from her new album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’. But this isn’t just another release. It’s Swift rewriting centuries-old tragedy into a story of survival, glamour, and reinvention.

The music video was first screened on Friday during ‘Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl’. Fans were treated to behind-the-scenes clips, Swift’s commentary on all twelve tracks of the album, and lyric videos for every song.
The excitement has translated into staggering numbers. On its first day alone, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ sold 2.7 million copies across formats. This is Swift’s biggest opening to date and one of the largest first-week sales in the music industry since 1991.
