The Duffer Brothers clearly wanted to expand the world of ‘Stranger Things’. However, this time the storytelling leans heavily on scientific theories and layered explanations making it harder to follow for casual viewers.
For months, social media was full of fan theories about deaths, twists, and the true nature of the Upside Down. Most of those theories turned out to be wrong.
Surprisingly there are no major deaths in Volume 2. All the main characters survive. It comes as relief to many fans. Still, some viewers feel the lack of loss reduces the emotional impact especially for a season that is supposed to be nearing the end.
The show picks up exactly where Season 1 emotionally began with the group coming together. Everyone joins forces to stop Vecna and save children trapped in Upside Down.

Eleven (El) and Eight (Kali) work together in this volume, making their roles clearer than before. However, many fans are still unhappy with Kali’s character calling her too dark and pessimistic much like in Season 2.
Meanwhile, Max and Holly get more screen time together as they explore Henry’s memories.
Fans were happy to see everyone alive and united. There is noticeable character growth especially with Lucas and Max getting back together. Jonathan’s proposal to Nancy adds a big emotional moment while Dustin and Steve’s friendship remains a fan favorite.
However some relationships feel underdeveloped including Eleven and Mike, Hopper and Joyce, and Mike and Will.
