On his birthday, Prithviraj gives fans a sneak peek of upcoming action drama ‘Khalifa’

On his birthday today, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s fans were in for a special surprise. The makers of his upcoming action thriller, ‘Khalifa’, released a short video giving a first glimpse of the star in his new avatar.

The clip simply titled ‘Glimpse’ shows Sukumaran as a fearless and mysterious figure. He seems to have eluded the law and the government for years.

In the video, Prithviraj is behind the wheel of a sleek luxury car followed by an intense sequence of fights. He wields a knife with deadly precision taking down his enemies one by one. The clip ends with a striking image of Sukumaran lighting a cigarette after delivering a brutal blow to a man on a bus.

The action-packed glimpse also reveals the movie’s central theme: gold smuggling.

Sharing the video on Instagram, Prithviraj wrote, “A revenge forged by a lineage that spans generations! Next Onam… Aamir Ali will write his vengeance in gold! #KHALIFA – The Ruler.” The film is set to release next year during Onam, giving fans plenty to look forward to.

‘Khalifa’ comes in direction of Vysakh and writing of Jinu V Abraham. The production credit goes to Jinu V Abraham and Suraj Kumar under the banner of Jiinu Abraham Innovation. Music is composed by Jake Bejoy, while Chaman Chakko handles the editing.

But Prithviraj isn’t stopping there. The actor has also started shooting another highly anticipated project ‘Daayra’ alongside Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Both actors shared glimpses from the first day of shooting on social media writing, “Day 1. 68th film Daayra with the most amazing @meghnagulzar and @therealprithvi… Send love and blessings.”

‘Daayra’ is likely to be a thought-provoking drama that explores societal norms and institutions, promising a very different experience from Prithviraj’s high-octane ‘Khalifa’.
