Telugu actor Kiran Abbavaram’s upcoming romantic drama ‘Chennai Love Story’ is heading to theatres on July 24, 2026. The release date was announced at a musical event held in Tirupati, where the team also launched the film’s latest song ‘Jigithara’.
The makers unveiled the new song ‘Jigithara’ at a grand musical event held on Saturday evening in Tirupati. The date announcement came alongside the song launch, with Kiran Abbavaram sharing the news on his X handle, writing: “July 24th.. save the date!! You will surely feel all the love and magic!”

The team also visited Tirumala during the trip. Kiran Abbavaram, Sri Gouri Priya, and music director Mani Sharma offered prayers at the Tirumala temple ahead of the film’s release.

‘Chennai Love Story’ is a Telugu romantic entertainer directed by Ravi Namburii. The film casts Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya in the lead roles, with music composed by Mani Sharma, cinematography by Viswas Daniel, and editing by Santhosh Naidu.
The film’s story is not about first love, but about the right one, as established in the film’s early glimpse video featuring the two leads. Sri Gouri Priya is popular for her role in ‘MAD’.
New song ‘Jigithara’
Penned by Anantha Sriram and sung by Karthik, ‘Jigithara’ is a soulful romantic number by Mani Sharma in his trademark melodious style. The lyrics include references to Ilaiyaraaja, Bharathiraja, and Vadivelu, reflecting the spirit of the film’s title.
The song portrays a lover’s admiration for his beloved, comparing her to a heavenly angel who transforms his life. The track received a positive response at the Tirupati event.
Music album building momentum
‘Jigithara’ is not the first song from the film to gain traction. The first single, ‘Tholi Premem Thopu Kadhe’, quickly emerged as a chartbuster and gained massive popularity among music lovers. Following its success, Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani launched the second single ‘Vadalane’.
The makers have focused on keeping the music young and relatable, which has been working well for ‘Chennai Love Story’.
