Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be producing a film based on the recently conducted airstrikes by the Indian Air Force in Pakistan’s Balakot, it is learnt. According to reports, the untitled film on Balakot airstrikes will be helmed by Abhishek Kapoor, who recently directed Kedarnath.
The casting of the film is yet to be decided though producers have been finalised. Filmfare reported that the film was likely to be co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mahaveer Jain.
After the success of Raazi and Uri, Bollywood looks keen on working on such subject-based films.
The film will be a tribute to the armed forces, according to people associated with the project.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s last release Padmaavat starred Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles and the film did extremely well at the Box Office.
