The trailer of Gully Boy, the highly-anticipated film of 2019 starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, was launched on Wednesday. The film is about a rapper from the streets of Mumbai who wants to become famous. Despite all the discouragement Ranveer’s character is shown believing in the mantra ‘apna time aayega’ (our time will come).
During the launch of the trailer, the main leads, Alia and Ranveer, were the major highlight and even showed their goofy side.

At the trailer launch, Alia was asked what it was like working with Ranveer in Gully Boy and Ranbir Kapoor in Brahmastra, and how similar or different they are as actors, during which Ranveer found an opportunity to tease her about the same.
The trailer has already crossed 17 million views on YouTube and celebrities across social media showered praises on the lead actors. In the film, Ranveer Singh plays the underdog rapper while Alia Bhatt plays the role of a medical student.
Speaking on Gully Boy and how special it is Ranveer said, “When somebody told me about the script of Gully Boy, I told them that it is my film. If any other actor would have been a part of this film instead of me then I would have got burnt with jealousy. I was born to do Gully Boy and I knew only I can pull off this character.”

Gully Boy stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin and is directed by Zoya Akhtar. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 14 February 2019.
Lalit Modi says he had never met Ranveer Singh before receiving a call saying the actor wanted to see him. Singh then travelled to London and the two met at Modi's residence to discuss the biopic.
FWICE, which represents around 30 lakh cine workers, had sent Ranveer three meeting invitations before issuing the directive. The actor's team received no advance and claims the film lacked a locked script even years after development began.
