Vinod Kapri’s upcoming film, Pihu, is beyond the horror you have ever witnessed on the screen or would have even imagined. The filmmaker decided to work on the heartrending real story of a child’s survival instincts in an empty house where her mother is lying dead.

The trailer of the film, released recently, is uncomfortable to say the least. Pihu, the protagonist of the film, is a two-year-old girl who is left alone in an empty house after the sudden demise of her mother. The little girl does everything from locking herself up in the refrigerator to climbing up the railings of the balcony. The film captures every possible nightmare a parent could imagine.

Now, the makers have picked up a more freakish strategy to promote their film. People are randomly getting calls from a girl child wailing on the other side who hangs up without saying anything. The receiver, on expected lines, calls back and then a message pops up with a link to the trailer of Pihu.

Though it seems to be a unique marketing strategy, it hasn’t gone down well with those receiving such a call.

A few people took to Twitter and shared their views on which they said a “horrible idea”.

On 26 October, Journalist Sudhir Srinivasan took to Twitter and wrote, “Got a call from an anonymous number. A baby wailed about her mother and dad and hung up. Disturbed, I tried calling back in vain. Got a message with a link to help the child. A link, as it turns out, of #Pihu’s trailer. A horrible idea, a disgusting invasion of privacy.”
