Pathaan was surrounded by all sorts of controversies immediately after the release of its teaser with the song ‘Besharam Rang’, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, last month. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narrottam Mishra had objected to Padukone’s dress in the song and called for rectification and people across the country took part in this agitation.

A delegation of multiplex owners in Gujarat on Wednesday met state Home Harsh Sanghavi with a request for security for theatres that have planned to screen the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan-starrer, which is facing opposition from Hindu flag bearing groups over certain scenes in the movie.

Multiplex Association of Gujarat (MAG) president Manubhai Patel said during the session, the minister assured the delegation protection to the multiplex theatres from the groups that are warning the exhibitors against the film’s screening.

The representatives of the association met Sanghavi in Gandhinagar a week before the film’s release and conveyed their concerns over threats received by them from various groups which have cautioned them against screening the movie.

Meanwhile, the Bajrang Dal said it was firm on its stand not to let the movie hit the theatres in the state as a song in the movie “insults” Hindu religion.

Shah Rukh Khan and his film ‘Pathaan’ are facing backlash for showing Padukone in a saffron bikini in the song ‘Besharam Rang’.
