Delving into the mind of Sameer Saxena, the mastermind behind the series, we uncover the meticulous choices made for the lead character, Abhishek Tripathi. Jitendra Kumar, a familiar face from TVF collaborations, found himself in the spotlight, chosen by Saxena for his uncanny resemblance to the protagonist and their successful past projects together.
Kumar, reflecting on the comparisons drawn between his character and Shah Rukh Khan’s Mohan Bhargav from the iconic film Swades, expressed his delight. “The comparisons were inevitable. But I am very happy about it, as I am a huge fan of the film. It left a deep impact on me,” he shared, proudly revealing a framed poster of Swades adorning his home.

Neena Gupta steps into the shoes of Manju Devi, the village Pradhan and a homemaker, showcasing her versatility in yet another remarkable role. Gupta’s initial acceptance of the script was influenced by the positive response to TVF’s previous projects and the prospect of collaborating with Raghubir Yadav and Jitendra once again.
Speaking of Yadav, he takes on the character of Brij Bhushan Dubey, the husband of Manju Devi. The connection between the cast members goes beyond the screen, as Yadav’s student, Chandan Roy, lands the role of Vikas, the office assistant. Roy, recalling the serendipitous turn of events, revealed that a chance call from a friend led him to audition for a small role in the series. His journey took him to Bhopal, where he met the TVF team, and with the stroke of fate, he not only received the script for Vikas but also secured the role.
Adding a touch of behind-the-scenes magic, Deepak Kumar Mishra stepped in to capture the one-day portion initially offered to Roy, completing the ensemble that brings Panchayat to life. As we eagerly await the announcement of the release date for Panchayat Season 3, these insights into the cast selection process only heighten the anticipation for the rural drama’s return.
