A film that once stirred theatre crowds with its dark romance is now quietly sliding into your living room. Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘O’ Romeo’, the moody crime love story starring Shahid Kapoor, has finally arrived on OTT after its theatrical run earlier this year.
‘O’ Romeo’ first hit theatres on February 13, 2026, just ahead of Valentine’s Day. But Vishal Bhardwaj had other plans. Instead of simple love story, audiences were pulled into dark, violent world where love slowly turns into obsession.

The film had a mixed reaction in cinemas. But now with its digital release, it is getting second chance to connect with viewers.
‘O’Romeo’ on OTT
The film began its online journey on Amazon Prime Video on March 27, 2026, but only on a rental basis. Now, the wait is over for subscribers.
From April 10, ‘O’ Romeo’ is available for free streaming to all Amazon Prime Video subscribers. That means no extra charge, just a click-and-watch experience.
‘O’ Romeo’ story
Set in the rough lanes of 1990s Mumbai, ‘O’ Romeo’ follows Ustara, a young man whose life takes a dangerous turn after he falls deeply in love with Afsha, played by Triptii Dimri.
It begins as innocent affection and slowly transforms into a troubling obsession. Ustara’s emotions drag him into Mumbai’s underworld where crime and survival blur the lines of love and morality.
The screenplay has been co-written by Vishal Bhardwaj and Rohan Narula, and it takes inspiration from S. Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’.
