The internet is buzzing once again about cricketer Smriti Mandhana and singer-composer Palash Muchhal. Fans were eagerly waiting for their wedding. But the celebrations hit an unexpected pause sparking a flurry of rumours. One claim gaining traction involves a woman named Mary D’Costa alleged to be the reason for the wedding’s postponement. But now she has finally spoken up.
Festivities begun in Sangli
The couple’s wedding celebrations started in their hometown of Sangli, Maharashtra, with traditional sangeet and haldi ceremonies. Friends, family, close acquaintances had gathered to join in the pre-wedding festivities. Everything appeared on track for the wedding (November 23, 2025).

However before the main wedding ceremony could take place, news broke that Smriti’s father was hospitalised due to a heart-related health scare. The couple decided to put the wedding on hold.
Mary D’Costa leaked chats with Palash Muchhal
While the health scare explained the postponement, the internet had other ideas. Screenshots allegedly showing flirty chats between Palash Muchhal and Mary D’Costa surfaced on social media. Some claimed these chats were the real reason the wedding was delayed. The screenshots, reportedly first shared on Reddit, quickly spread across platforms.
Mary D’Costa breaks her silence now
Mary D’Costa has now addressed the rumours in an Instagram post. She has set the record straight. She revealed that her contact with Palash lasted only one month from April 29 to May 30, 2025 and that she never met him in person.
“People have been asking why I’m speaking about this now,” Mary wrote. “The truth is, I actually exposed him back in July, but no one knew who he was at the time, so it went unnoticed.”
She also clarified she is not a choreographer, nor was she involved with Palash in any romantic way, countering some misleading reports circulating online.
“I am not the choreographer, and I am not the person he cheated with. I’m saying this because things are getting mixed up, and I don’t want people assuming the wrong things,” Mary added.
Wedding rumours continue
Adding fuel to the fire, Smriti Mandhana deleted all wedding-related posts from her Instagram account, including engagement pictures and videos from pre-wedding ceremonies.
While some interpreted this as a sign of personal issues, insiders clarified that it coincided with her father’s hospitalisation and Palash’s brief hospitalisation in Mumbai due to stress and acidity.
