Hustlers is the thriller drama with depth and intelligence based on a 2015 New York magazine article by Jessica Pressler.
Directed by Lorene Scafaria, the film is about a crew of strippers in New York City who begin to steal drug stock traders and CEOs who visit their club, in order to steal money. The plot is set against the backdrop of the 2008 recession.
Along with Lopez, Hustlers also casts Constance Wu, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Lizzo and Cardi B.
Lopez is also a co-producer on the film through Nuyorican Productions, alongside Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell, and Adam McKay through their Gloria Sanchez banner and is brought to India by PVR Pictures.
Hustlers, budgeted at $20.7 million, has already done a business of $37.7 million since its release last weekend in the United States.
The film currently holds an 88 per cent approval rating on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, IANS reported.
