Jason Momoa has officially unleashed his wild side as DC’s infamous bounty hunter Lobo, and fans are loving it. A first-look teaser from ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ confirms this dream casting is finally real.

If you thought Jason Momoa had already done it all in the DC universe, think again. The man who once ruled the seas as Aquaman is now revving up a motorcycle, flashing sharp fangs, and stepping into chaos as Lobo; DC’s wildest bounty hunter. And yes, it’s finally happening.
DC fans woke up to a delicious surprise when DC Studios co-head James Gunn dropped a video that instantly set social media on fire. It was short, loud, and very Momoa.

The actor steps out of his film trailer, grins with those deadly fangs on full display, and casually says one word: “Finally.”

The Instagram clip shared by Gunn feels less like a studio announcement and more like a mic drop. No heavy dialogue. No action sequence. Just Momoa owning the moment before heading off to shoot. The video then cuts to his official reveal as Lobo, and suddenly fans had proof,lku this dream casting is real.
For years, comic lovers have said Momoa ‘was born’ to play Lobo. Big build, rebel energy, zero interest in playing nice. It all fits too perfectly. Now, DC has finally made it official.
Lobo isn’t your typical superhero. He’s loud, violent, funny, and completely unpredictable. A space bounty hunter who loves destruction almost as much as he loves himself, Lobo is pure chaos wrapped in leather and attitude.
Momoa has never hidden his love for the character. Back in December 2024, when his casting was announced, he openly admitted Lobo had always been his favourite comic book character.
In an earlier interview quoted by ‘Variety’, Momoa had even joked that playing Lobo would be the “perfect role” for him, long before DC made the call.
‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El and is the second film in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s freshly rebooted DC Universe. The first was ‘Superman’ (2025), which introduced David Corenswet as the Man of Steel and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.
This new film expands that universe, and Momoa’s Lobo promises to bring a darker, rougher edge to the story.
‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ is scheduled to hit theatres on June 26, 2026.
