Was it on set? Mystery remains

What exactly happened? That part is still unclear. Sources say it is not confirmed whether the injury occurred while filming or elsewhere.

But the uncertainty hasn’t stopped fans from speculating. After all, a show like Tomb Raider involves intense action, stunts, and physically demanding sequences.

The show is being created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and produced by Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics.

Production officially kicked off on January 15, when the makers released a first-look image of Turner as Lara Croft. The series is mainly filming in the UK.

From video game to global icon

The Tomb Raider story is based on the famous video game franchise that began in 1996. It follows archaeologist-adventurer Lara Croft as she explores dangerous locations and solves mysteries.

The character became so popular that the Guinness Book of World Records named Lara Croft the “Most Successful Human Videogame Heroine” in 2006.

Over the years, six games and three films have been released.

The first two films starred Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft, while the 2018 reboot featured Alicia Vikander in the role.
