Channing Tatum isn’t letting a little surgery slow him down! The actor stepped onto the red carpet with all the confidence of a man who’s clearly ready to steal the spotlight, just days after going under the knife for a shoulder operation. Fans got a front-row look at Tatum’s recovery at the premiere of ‘Josephine’ during the Berlin International Film Festival on Friday, February 20.

Tatum wasn’t alone. He was joined by his co-star Gemma Chan for the big event. The actor looked effortlessly stylish in a black pinstripe suit featuring a collarless jacket and wide-leg trousers, paired with sleek black leather loafers.

Showing off the battle scars

Only a day before the premiere, Tatum gave fans an intimate peek at his recent surgery on social media. The actor revealed he had undergone surgery for a “separated shoulder,” posting X-ray images that showed metal screws holding his bones together.

“Screwed shoulder. Yay,” he joked in the caption.

Tatum didn’t shy away from sharing the reality of the operation: “Not gone lie it’s my fault for not asking. I thought it was gonna be two little holes. Apparently not the case. Hehehe.”

He also reassured fans about his recovery, saying, “Well it doesn’t matter anyhow, I like scars anyway and it’s feeling stronger day by day, so thank you doc.” In true Tatum fashion, he even poked fun at airport security: “Also I do like going through airport security wondering if my shoulder is gonna shut off the machine.”

Injuries, stunts, and age realities

While Tatum hasn’t revealed exactly how this shoulder injury happened, he’s well-known for doing his own stunts. In a past interview with ‘Variety’, the actor had shown the toll of performing physically demanding scenes while shooting ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, a film slated for December 2026 release.

He opened up about injuries and aging, sharing, “It’s not about the pain I feel in the moment,” and explained how recovery timelines are always tricky. Walking with a noticeable limp during the interview, Tatum admitted he still feels young at heart: “I just hate getting old. In my mind, I’m literally still 30 years old. 26, if I’m honest.”
