Vikram Bhatt is back with another horror film Ghost, but is it really scary? Let’s find out.

As claimed by the makers, Ghost is based on true incidents. Karan Khanna (Shivam Bhaargava), a budding politician in London, is accused of killing his wife which he denies and claims that it’s an act of a ghost occupying their house. Simran Singh (Sanaya Irani) is a young lawyer, fighting her own inner battle, takes up this unusual and unique case reluctantly. Karan and Simran develop mutual attraction as they prepare for the battle of the paranormal against the judiciary of the country where they have to prove to the law that a ghost is the killer.

Ghost has a strong story going in its favour (written by Vikram Bhatt). The film creates just the right mix of horror and thrill without going over the top and the suspense keeps you glued to the happenings on the screen. The film is different from Vikram Bhatt’s previous horror films in terms of the treatment and picturisation of ghost sequences. Few scenes, like the one in the courtroom where ghost spirit is passing, gives a real scare. The screenplay plays with the psyche of the audience and keeps them guessing and culminates with a twist. The characterisation is good and believable and makes the audience connect with the characters. Ghost also has hummable music that’s has been the USP of Vikram Bhatt films.

Sanaya Irani makes a powerful debut and delivers a fine performance. Shivam Bhaargava plays his part sincerely. The rest of the cast including Vikram Bhatt and Ananaya Sengupta in their small roles leave an impact.

Ghost is a must-watch for the lovers of horror and thriller genre as it makes an overall complete package with a unique story, good music, and a generous dose of horror. The movie gets a rating of 3/5.
