Sorry, I am unable to attend the event today due to some reasons requiring me to travel outside Mumbai, but thank you; this means a lot to me. It’s a huge honor, and I would like to express my gratitude to my director Meghna Gulzar, my producer Ronnie Screwala, and the entire team of Sam Bahadur, including all the technicians, the writers, and my co-actors whose support enabled me to perform my best. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to the family of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw for their assistance, love, and support. This one is for my lovely audience who watched this film in theaters, showered it with love, and supported us immensely. Thank you so much. And last but not least, this one is dedicated to the Indian army.”

‘Sam Bahadur’ narrates the life story of India’s first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw, whose military career spanned over four decades and five wars. He was the pioneer Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal.

Fondly known as ‘Sam Bahadur,’ Manekshaw led the Indian Army to triumph in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, culminating in the birth of Bangladesh. Throughout his illustrious military journey, Manekshaw played pivotal roles in the Indo-Pak War of 1947 and the liberation of Hyderabad in 1948.

‘Sam Bahadur’ marks Vicky’s second collaboration with Meghna Gulzar following ‘Raazi.’

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film also features Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles. (ANI)
