Actor Triptii Dimri is ready to take audiences on a powerful emotional ride with ‘Dhadak 2’, a film that pushes the boundaries of love and identity. At the trailer launch, Triptii opened up about her experience working on the film and collaborating with director Shazia Iqbal.
“This project has been special from the very beginning,” Triptii said with visible excitement. “From the first narration to today, there’s been a constant feeling of happiness and confidence around this film. Shazia Iqbal has been nothing short of amazing. She gave us, as actors, the space to truly inhabit our characters without pressure.”

What stood out most for Triptii was Shazia’s quiet strength and support on set, especially during emotionally demanding scenes.
“Shooting intense scenes can take a toll on an actor,” she said. “But Shazia never tried to push or direct us aggressively. She was just there; calm, encouraging, always smiling, sometimes even holding our hands. That kind of presence is rare. She’s the kind of director who lets you fly while being your safety net.”
Triptii, who is teaming up once again with Dharma Productions, expressed immense pride in her second outing with the studio.
“This is a film I’m deeply proud of. The role, the story, it all came together in a way that felt true and important.”
The trailer for ‘Dhadak 2’ hints at a stirring narrative that goes beyond just romance. Set in the world of law colleges, the film follows two young lovers, played by Triptii and Siddhant Chaturvedi, who fall in love against the backdrop of a society still grappling with caste divisions.
The story confronts casteism and questions of identity, weaving them into a contemporary love story filled with tension, resilience, and hope.
Directed by debutant Shazia Iqbal, ‘Dhadak 2’ stands on its own feet with a bold story that reflects today’s India. It’s a film about love, yes, but it’s also about resistance, identity, and navigating a system that often tries to put people in boxes.
