Shabana Azmi, the seasoned actor, holds a pivotal role in filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi’s upcoming project ‘Lahore 1947’, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta in lead roles.
Rajkumar Santoshi, in a recent statement, divulged insights into Shabana Azmi’s character in the film.
“Shabana ji has portrayed a myriad of characters throughout her illustrious career. She’s an immensely talented actress, and her portrayal in ‘Lahore 1947’ embodies a central essence around which the narrative unfolds,” he remarked.

Santoshi also expressed his anticipation regarding Preity Zinta’s involvement in the film.
“After a considerable hiatus, Preity Zinta is gracing the silver screen with a significant role in ‘Lahore 1947’. She’s undeniably one of the finest and most authentic talents in our industry. Her dedication to her roles is palpable, and she effortlessly embodies each character she portrays. It’s intriguing to see her reunite with Sunny Deol on screen, a duo cherished by audiences. Moreover, the script of this film necessitates a pairing as authentic as Sunny and Preity,” Santoshi shared.
‘Lahore 1947′ is under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, marking the collaboration of Sunny Deol, Rajkumar Santoshi, and Aamir Khan. Notably, this project signifies the 17th production under Aamir Khan Productions’ (AKP) banner.
Additionally, the film marks the reunion of Preity and Sunny after an extended period. The duo has previously shared screen space in films like ‘The Hero: Love Story of a Spy’, ‘Farz’, and ‘Bhaiaji Superhit’. (ANI)
