In a recent interview, Bollywood power couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor opened up about the ongoing fascination with star kids, emphasizing that the phenomenon extends beyond their own children, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh. Reflecting on the buzz surrounding Zoya Akhtar’s latest project, “The Archies,” Saif highlighted how the audience’s interest seems to remain on celebrity children.
“The audience and people show interest in star kids. Just take ‘The Archies,’ for instance. All the talk revolves around certain actors who happen to be star kids,” Saif remarked during the interview. Indeed, “The Archies” introduced audiences to the debut performances of Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Khushi Kapoor, all of whom hail from illustrious Bollywood lineages.

Saif further delved into the constant attention his younger sons, Taimur and Jehangir, receive from the media. “They’re always being photographed, always in the limelight. If tomorrow someone decides to cast them in a movie, it’s not exactly a surprise. Their popularity precedes them,” he observed.

The actor went on to express their apprehension about the relentless media scrutiny surrounding their children. “We don’t seek out this kind of attention for them. We don’t manufacture star kids. Biologically, yes, but what truly shapes them into ‘star kids’ is the relentless pursuit of the press and the audience’s interest,” Saif mused.
Questioning the underlying reasons for this fascination, Saif pondered, “Perhaps people just innocently want to catch a glimpse of the star kids. But why does it become such a significant issue?”
The couple’s candid remarks shed light on the complexities surrounding celebrity culture in Bollywood and the inherent challenges of raising children in the public eye. Their introspective commentary serves as a reminder of the broader societal fascination with fame and the blurred boundaries between private and public life in the entertainment industry.
