August 14 marks 16 years since the release of the acclaimed action thriller ‘Kaminey’, and Priyanka Chopra is taking a moment to reflect on the film that became a milestone in her career.
On Monday, the actress shared her memories on Instagram, posting behind-the-scenes pictures from the set and a heartfelt note about her journey with the movie.

Priyanka Chopra took fans down memory lane, recalling how she first received the offer for ‘Kaminey’ while she was shooting ‘Dostana’ in Miami, Florida, alongside John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan, under the direction of Tarun Mansukhani.
“One cool evening after wrapping the shoot, I saw a missed call from Vishal Bhardwaj,” she wrote. “What?? I had wanted to work with him forever and never thought he would cast me because of my ‘commercial’ image at the time.”

The actress shared how Vishal Bhardwaj personally came to Miami to tell her the story of the film. Though her character had around eight scenes, Priyanka said the director promised her something remarkable.
“I was greedy to work with him,” she admitted.
Priyanka also spoke about how ‘Kaminey’ became a turning point in her career. She praised the film’s cast and crew, calling Shahid Kapoor’s double role “sensational” and highlighting other team members like Amol Gupte and Mubina Rattonsey.
Set in the gritty Mumbai underworld, ‘Kaminey’ tells the story of twin brothers caught in a web of crime and rivalry. The movie, released on August 14, 2009.
Looking ahead, Priyanka Chopra is gearing up for another big project, joining SS Rajamouli’s ambitious film, reportedly titled ‘Globetrotter’ (SSMB29), featuring superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead.
