Kareena hails Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ as ‘Divine’

The much-awaited song ‘Naram Kaalja’ from the upcoming film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila,’ featuring the dynamic duo of Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, has finally hit the airwaves, giving fans a taste of what’s to come.
The song, sung by Diljit himself, is a playful ode to the female fans who adored Amar Singh Chamkila, a legendary figure in Punjab’s music scene known for his electrifying stage presence. Backed by the musical genius of AR Rahman and adorned with the poetic lyrics of Irshad Kamil, ‘Naram Kaalja’ features vocals by Alka Yagnik, Richa Sharma, Pooja Tiwari, and Yashika Sikka.
Directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ promises to unravel the riveting tale of Punjab’s original rockstar who defied odds to become a household name in the 80s, only to meet a tragic end at the tender age of 27. Set to premiere on Netflix come April 12th, the film is a collaborative effort between Mohit Choudhary, Select Media Holdings LLP, Saregama, and Window Seat Films.

Reflecting on his journey with the project, Imtiaz Ali expressed his gratitude towards the talented cast, particularly praising Diljit and Parineeti for their dedication, especially in mastering the art of live singing. Diljit, in turn, shared his excitement for the challenging role, thanking Imtiaz for entrusting him with such a significant character and acknowledging the privilege of working alongside Parineeti and the rest of the team.
Parineeti echoed similar sentiments, describing her experience as immensely enriching and expressing gratitude towards Imtiaz for the opportunity to portray Amarjot, Chamkila’s wife and singing partner. She also expressed her joy at collaborating with Diljit and fulfilling her dream of working with AR Rahman.
