There is already some spicy chatter brewing around Medha Shankr even before her new film hits screens. The actress quietly impressed audiences with her natural performance in ‘12th Fail’. Now she is stepping into a much-talked-about sequel. And with that comes inevitable comparisons, opinions, and of course, Bollywood gossip.
This time, the buzz is about how Medha Shankr will match up to Yami Gautam, who led the original ‘Ginny Weds Sunny’. But if you were expecting tension, shade, or subtle rivalry… Medha just shut it all down in the calmest way possible.

Speaking in an interview, Medha made it obvious that she has nothing but admiration for Yami. She even mentioned that she loves both Yami and filmmaker Aditya Dhar, and they know how much she respects them.
According to her, Yami has always been a strong performer and deserves the recognition she has earned.
Medha didn’t try to dodge the question either. She addressed it head-on. She explained that she feels inspired by people who do great work, whether they came before her, work alongside her, or come after her.
The original film released in 2020 and featured Yami opposite Vikrant Massey. The light-hearted romantic comedy found its audience on OTT and became a comfort watch for many viewers.
Its fun tone and easy romance made it memorable, which is why expectations from the sequel are naturally high.
Now, ‘Ginny Weds Sunny 2’ is bringing a completely new dynamic. Medha will be seen alongside Avinash Tiwary.
The film is scheduled to release on April 24.
