‘Laapataa Ladies’ stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan in lead roles.
Set in 2001 in rural India, the film explores the amusing chaos that unfolds when two young brides become separated from a train.
The film had its screening at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) last year.
Aamir and Kiran expressed their gratitude for the incredible response to their project. Aamir stated, “I am absolutely thrilled with the audience, press, and industry response to ‘Laapataa Ladies’. I feel especially proud of Kiran and her emergence as a strong voice in the popular space! Can’t wait for the film to release now.”
Kiran also shared her excitement about the positive response, adding, “There’s no better reward for a filmmaker than to experience firsthand the laughter, tears, and applause of your audience. At TIFF, we were delighted and humbled by it. A big thank you for all the support and love we received, and looking forward now to bringing ‘Laapataa Ladies’ to theaters at home in India.”

Somehow of late, Bollywood had given up on romances that once instilled greater confidence among dating couples. Two reactions, one cause. While Aamir Khan focuses on setting the '3 Idiots' record straight, Kiran Rao goes further, calling out the silence around Sonam Wangchuk's fast.
The actor has finally responded to questions over his silence, expressing concern for Sonam Wangchuk while clarifying the real story behind '3 Idiots'.
