Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Instagram feed was filled with warmth and smiles on Monday as she celebrated her mother-in-law legendary actress Sharmila Tagore on her birthday. The actress shared a series of candid family photos.

In her post, Kareena popularly known as Bebo simply wrote, “Happy birthday dearest Mother-in-law.” But the images spoke volumes.

Over the years, Kareena has often praised her mother-in-law’s elegance and grace calling her “the most elegant and graceful woman.” She admires Sharmila for her warmth, inclusiveness, and her remarkable ability to balance a celebrated acting career with family life.

Earlier this year, Kareena couldn’t hide her excitement over Sharmila’s return to Bengali cinema after nearly 14 years. In a video shared by the ‘Puratawn’ team, Kareena called Sharmila “the original Bengal Tigress” and congratulated the team behind the film. “I think everyone is looking forward to seeing this beautiful film. So am I, in cinemas,” she said.

‘Puratawn’ directed by Suman Ghosh explores the tender yet complex relationship between a mother played by Sharmila Tagore. Her daughter is portrayed by Rituparna Sengupta. The film goes on to address themes of age-related memory loss, nostalgia, deep bonds that tie family generations together. Indraneil Sengupta also plays a key role in the film.
