What started as a small argument over parking outside a house in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area turned into a tragedy on Thursday night. Actor Huma Qureshi’s cousin, Asif Qureshi, lost his life after being attacked by two young men during the heated quarrel.
The entire sequence was caught on CCTV. It begins with one of the accused, a young man, walking straight towards Asif and charging at him. The two immediately get into a shoving match, both trying to defend themselves. Then a woman steps in to stop the fight, but they roughly push her aside.

Within moments, another man joins the first attacker, and the two gang up on Asif. They manage to push him to the ground and throw several punches. Some neighbours rush in, trying to calm things down. The chaos continues as all three men end up on the ground at one point.
Asif Qureshi, Huma Qureshi’s cousin, manages to get back on his feet, but the argument refuses to die. The men exchange angry words from a distance while people try to keep them apart. Towards the end of the clip, one of the accused is seen walking back towards the crowd where Asif is standing. And, what happens next is not on camera.
According to police, the fight broke out around 10 pm after Asif asked the men not to park their scooter right outside his house’s main entrance.
Shaheen Asif Qureshi, one of Asif’s wives, as reported by NDTV talks about the final moments she saw her husband alive. “Around 9:30-10 pm, a neighbour parked a scooter outside our house. My husband politely asked him to move it away. Instead, the man started abusing him and threatened to come back.”
Shaheen says that within minutes, the man returned, this time with his brother. But they weren’t there to talk. “They came and stabbed Asif with a sharp weapon. I called my brother-in-law Javed for help, but by the time he reached, Asif had lost too much blood. He didn’t survive,” she said.
Asif was rushed to the National Heart Institute in East of Kailash, but it was already too late. Doctors declared him dead on arrival. “They told me he had died about an hour and a half earlier,” Shaheen added.
Delhi Police moved quickly after the incident. Both accused, identified as Ujjwal (19) and Gautam (18), have been arrested. Officers say they have also recovered the murder weapon. An FIR has been registered under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with the offence of murder.
