In a caption, Anurag Kashyap opened up about the 16-year journey he has shared with Viineet Kumar Siingh. “This is a special appreciation post for a person who is so special in my life. I have probably done more films with him than anyone. He has never questioned me whenever I called him to do something for me. In the last 16 years, he has done whatever I asked him to do,” wrote the director.
He went on to describe Siingh as “the most understanding and hardworking actor and human I know.” Calling him “my brother” and “the finest actor we have in this country today,” Kashyap praised Siingh’s unwavering dedication and humility.
“You just cannot ignore him. His faith in me and in himself, his lack of seeking validation, he is just not part of my films but also my life. He is my pillar, someone I go to without hesitation,” the director added.
Kashyap also specifically thanked Siingh for his role in his latest project, ‘Nishaanchi’, where the actor portrays Zabardast. “Thank you @vineet_ksofficial for playing Zabardast. I love you and I owe you so much. He is a son to my father and my family more than anyone. I just want to tell the world how special you are to me,” Kashyap wrote, ending his note with a hopeful nod to the future: “Here is to us now and to the future and more that we will do together.”
The bond between Kashyap and Siingh is more than just professional. Siingh’s career received a major breakthrough with ‘Mukkabaaz’, a film directed and produced by Kashyap, where Siingh played a struggling boxer.
Their creative partnership goes even further back. Siingh initially collaborated with Kashyap in auditions and smaller roles, steadily building trust and rapport with the filmmaker. Together, they also worked on ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, one of Kashyap’s most iconic films.
