Fans of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, get ready but not just yet because the highly anticipated action-packed thriller ‘Alpha’ has a new release date. Earlier confirmed to hit screens on December 25, 2025, the Yash Raj Films (YRF) spy-universe outing will now arrive on April 17, 2026.

The change comes as the film’s visual effects team needs extra time to perfect the high-octane action sequences. Sources close to the production reveal that the team is leaving no stone unturned to ensure ‘Alpha’ delivers a visually stunning experience especially as it marks the first female-led entry in YRF’s spy universe.

A YRF spokesperson explained, “Alpha is an extremely special film for us, and we want to present it in its most cinematic form. The VFX work is taking a bit longer than expected. We want to ensure the audience gets the full theatrical experience. That’s why we’ve decided on an April 17, 2026 release.”

A top trade source added, “The push is purely about ensuring the film’s quality. The VFX team was under significant pressure, and the original timeline was simply unrealistic. This decision has nothing to do with crowded release windows or competing films. It’s about giving audiences the best version of Alpha.”

Fans who were eagerly marking December for a festive release will have to wait a little longer.
