The gossip in Bollywood circles is buzzing again, and this time it is all about the ‘Saiyaara’ team finding its rhythm once more. There is a fresh pairing, a shifting script, a long list of big names quietly orbiting the same project. At the centre of it all is Ahaan Panday, who is now being lined up for a new romantic drama from Mohit Suri. And yes, the film already has its own twists even before the cameras roll.
Sources say Mohit Suri has finished the basic storyline for his next film, a romantic comedy built around an unusual angle: an older man falling for a younger woman. But the original casting plan did not go smoothly. The actor first considered for the role did not work out and left the project back in reshaping mode. That’s when things started shifting again behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, the ‘Saiyaara’ connection brought Ahaan Panday back into the picture. Industry talk suggests producer Aditya Chopra stepped in with a fresh idea and proposed developing another rom-com featuring Ahaan.
The timing also fits neatly with Ahaan’s growing film slate. The producer reportedly feels that audiences will enjoy seeing him return in a romantic space after his upcoming intense role.
Mohit Suri’s dream, Ranbir Kapoor’s missing link
In a recent conversation with Variety India, Mohit Suri opened up about his long-standing wish to work with Ranbir Kapoor. He shared that they have already met and spoken about a possible collaboration.
He expressed hope that the actor would feel the same enthusiasm, praising Ranbir for layered acting style that fits his storytelling. However, he also clarified one thing very clearly; there is no role for Ranbir Kapoor in his current film “at the moment,” even though he wishes there was.
Ahaan Panday’s busy film ride and rom-com comeback
For now, Ahaan Panday has officially been confirmed as the lead in the new romantic comedy. Reports suggest that Mohit Suri is still fine-tuning the script so that it suits Ahaan’s screen personality perfectly.
The plan is to begin shooting by the end of the year, once final preparations are locked.
At the same time, Ahaan is already deep into another project. He is currently filming an action-romance directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The film features a strong ensemble cast including Sharvari, Aaishvary Thackeray, Bobby Deol, and Jimmy Shergill in key roles.
Interestingly, his next release after that will see him in a completely different avatar, an action thriller where he plays a gangster.
