Aamir Khan and Jessica Hines: Actor Faissal Khan, who has publicly distanced himself from his brother Aamir Khan and the rest of the family, has opened up about the reasons behind their long-standing differences.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Faissal revealed that tensions in his family began more than two decades ago and continue to affect him even today.

Faissal claimed that his personal struggles with his family started in 2002 when he faced pressure to get married. He said he responded in a letter questioning the family’s authority to dictate his personal life.

“It all started in 2002 with my family pressurising me for marriage,” Faissal told IANS. “In my letter, I mentioned that my sister Nikhat got married three times and that Aamir Khan has a child out of wedlock with Jessica Hines. I asked, if this is the state of their personal lives, who are they to give suggestions to me on how I should live my life. That’s when I decided to stop meeting them.”
The actor added that his decision to step away from the family led to allegations that he was suffering from mental health issues.
“They alleged that I’m suffering from mental health problems because I stopped meeting the family,” he said.
Despite the ongoing family tension, Faissal said he has found peace in his life. However, he admitted that anxiety sometimes overwhelms him, and he occasionally seeks medical help to manage it.
“I’m very much at peace. I am living my life,” he said. “Sometimes when my family pressure becomes too much, I get anxious. I do go to the doctor for anxiety and take medication. The stress comes from all the pressure and torture my family puts on me.”
Faissal also spoke about a legal battle related to his sudden ousting from the popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. He explained that he was initially given a signing amount but was later told he would no longer participate in the show.
“I was given a signing amount, and suddenly I was told, ‘You are not doing it’. I asked, ‘What happened? Why?’ So I pursued it legally,” he said.
According to Faissal, his lawyer suggested filing a court case to claim the full signing amount. “My lawyer said, ‘Let’s try to get the entire signing bond because they are firing you.’ The court case was necessary because we needed the money. We knew the agreement of ‘Bigg Boss’ was strong, and winning would be difficult, but we decided to take a chance. The signing amount was around INR 7–8 lakhs.”
Faissal’s revelations come amid growing public interest in the personal lives of Bollywood celebrities.
