The much anticipated trailer of the Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh is out.
Taking the “obsessive/possessive filmy pyaar” to another level, the Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh’s trailer will remind you of many things. From the eloquent and calm Aditya Kashyap in Jab We Met (even going back to Vivah, Ishq Vishk phase) to the intense and raw Tommy Singh from Udta Punjab, the trailer observes Shahid’s film career’s trajectory. It looks like a reminiscence of the versatile actor’s journey.

There is drama, violence, alcohol,drugs,obsession and thankfully no-one sided love giving us a break from the stalker-hero narrative for a change. Though the ” ex-girlfriend getting married and the hero going crazy” trope still lingers and the plot is built on that, nothing new, but the self-destructive feel of the film would remind many of the hit Imtiaz Ali film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rockstar (2011).

Kiara Advani is an MBBS student who plays Shahid’s love interest. With Advani, the studious-obedient- heroine returns once again to screen.
Kabir Singh is a remake of Telugu hit Arjun Reddy(2017). Sandeep Vanga who directed the original has also written and directed the remake, Kabir Singh.
The film is slated to release on 21 June 2019.
