Yoga, for a lot of people, has become more than just a set of exercise; it is a way of living and helps a person to attain better physical and mental health. It also improves flexibility in body and posture, increases blood flow, protects the spine, lowers blood sugar, helps you focus, maintains the nervous system and provides a good balance.

Different people have different ways of exercising and as June 21 marks the International Yoga Day, Bollywood celebrities are celebrating the day in their own ways. Here is what they have to say.

Actor Sidharth Malhotra showcased his own ‘aasan’ titled ‘SidAasan’ and extended wishes to his fans on the occasion of International Day of Yoga.

Nimrat Kaur tweeted, “Yoga isn’t just a way to keep to fit. It’s a way of life, a deeply enriched perspective. Sometimes upside down even! A journey that began not long enough ago for me with my incredible teacher, but surely one I intend to be on till I walk! Happy International Yoga Day”.

 

“Yoga is an essential tool for a healthy life. Endless number of benefits for amateur, pro and non-athletes. I would like to practice it much more than what I do now,” Saiyami Kher tweeted.

 

Actors Amyra Dastur and Mallika Sherawat wished fans on the occasion and urged them to perform yoga and stay happy.

Akshay Kumar on his Twitter handle shared the experience of his 75-year-old mother who improved her health after doing yoga on a daily basis post her knee surgery.

“Sharing something I am extremely proud of…post her knee surgery at the age of 75, my mother started doing yoga and now it is part of daily routine, improving one day at a time.”

 

Dharmendra Deol and Hema Malini also took to Twitter advising people to practise yoga on a regular basis.

Dharmendra said, “Yoga to be healthy and strong. Today is the day, start it today. Love you.”

“Yoga is a part of my daily morning routine! The benefits I derive are immense – I request all of u to make it an integral part of ur daily activities too, (sic.)” Hema Malini said.
