The film hit a peak of 18 tickets per second on the first day of advance sales.

Ashish Saksena, COO – Cinemas, BookMyShow, said, “The excitement around Avengers: Endgame is unlike anything we have seen before! The demand for tickets has been sky-high since advance bookings opened on BookMyShow, with cinemas adding new shows every day to match fans’ rising demands. Early trends on BookMyShow indicate that Avengers: Endgame will break all box office records for a Hollywood film in India.”

“Marvel has worked really hard to build each of its superhero franchise fan base, #endgame is dawning audiences  of all these individual superhero’s. The digitally connected world helps content creators to activate fans in deepest corners of the world and Avengers has managed to do this very well, the record breaking BO numbers are expected not only from top cities but huge occupancies are being reported at tier I and tier II towns also,” said Siddharth Bhardwaj, Chief Marketing Officer, UFO Moviez, a digital cinema distribution network and in-cinema advertising platform.

He added: “Let’s not forget it’s IPL, election time. After Kesari and Kalank, Avengers Endgame is one more proof of the fact that compulsive cinema content can outshine any other event that happens in any country.”

The film has smashed all records internationally and should current projections hold, Avengers will break its own record; Infinity War in the first weekend earned $ 257.7 million in the US alone.

In China, the film has broken the opening day business with $ 107 million succeeded by the UK, South Korea and Australia, according to variety.com

The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The star-studded cast includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Bradley Cooper and Josh Brolin.

Endgame released on April 26 worldwide, except Russia.

According to the Box Office India report, with opening day occupancy in the 80-85% range, the Marvel film’s occupancy is higher than both Baahubali 2 and Thugs of Hindostan.

The only catch is that Endgame has opened on relatively fewer screens, with shows being added every day owing to its popularity. In the metros, shows are beginning from 2 am in the morning and running all through the night.

Baahubali 2 had opened on 6500 screen and Thugs on over 5000 screens.
