Actress Anupama Parameswaran, known for her roles in ‘Karthikeya 2′ and ’18 Pages’, recently opened up about becoming a target of cyberbullying. In a post on Instagram, the young star revealed that false and inappropriate content about her and her family was circulating online. The material even included morphed photos and unfounded allegations.
Taking to her official Instagram account, Anupama wrote about how the harassment affected her. She said it was “deeply distressing” to see someone deliberately spreading lies and targeting her loved ones and co-actors. She explained that an Instagram profile had been circulating these posts creating a wave of false information around her personal life.

On further investigation, they discovered that the same person had created multiple fake accounts to deliberately spread hatred and misinformation about the actress. The cyber attack was not only personal but systematic.
After learning about the situation, Anupama promptly reported the matter to the Cyber Crime Police in Kerala. The authorities were able to trace the culprit; a 20-year-old girl from Tamil Nadu. Anupama, however, chose not to reveal the identity of the young woman citing concern for her future and well-being.
Anupama emphasized that owning a smartphone or having access to social media does not give anyone the right to harass, defame, spread hatred against others. “Every action online leaves a trace, and accountability will follow,” she warned.
Legal action has already been taken, and the accused will face consequences for their behaviour. Anupama highlighted that being a public figure does not strip away the right to safety and respect. “Cyberbullying is a punishable offence. And accountability is real,” she stressed.
