Taking on the rivals, Congress and SP-BSP alliance, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched BJP’s election campaign from Saharanpur on Sunday.
The election on eight Lok Sabha seats of western UP will be held in the first phase on April 11. Launching the election campaign for the party from Behat assembly area of Saharanpur, Adityanath first offered prayers at Shakumbhari Device and then left for the venue where he addressed a gathering.
In his speech, the CM targetted the Congress and SP -BSP alliance. He also mocked Congress President Rahul Gandhi while mentioning the work done by his government in the state. He also aired slogans “Modi hai to Mumkin Hai” and “UP 74 paar phir ek Baar Modi Sarkar” and appealed the masses to repeat these after him. He called upon the people to ensure the victory of BJP candidate Raghav Lakhanpal and to bring Modi back to power.
In his address, Yogi appreciated the work of Modi government at the centre and said that his (Modi’s) name is echoing across the country. Our Prime Minister has made us proud across, said Yogi and asserting that under his leadership a strong Bharat would be built.
“Five-year performance of Modi government is more than enough as compared to 55 years work of Congress,” he said and mocked Congress President Rahul Gandhi calling him “a man without brain.”
“He believes that sugar cane hangs on trees and in Amethi he had said that he will plant sugar trees,” said Yogi, adding that Rahul wants to fullfil the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi but doesn’t know how to sit in a temple.
Targeting Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati, Yogi said he had visited Saharanpur six times in just two years but these two as CMs did not visit the place in the past 10 years. He also blamed the SP and BSP for poor law and order condition and high rate of crime in their rule.
He said that before he took over as the CM, “gundaraj” was prevailing in UP and his government has worked hard to improve the law and order situation. He said that the state police has cracked down on the criminals as a result of which many criminals were killed and many were sent to jail.
He also charged the Samajwadi Party government of preventing programmes of Hindus while his government organised Kanwar Yatra without obstacles. We opened recruitment in police and provided opportunities to girls as well, he said.
Counting upon his government’s achievements, Yogi said that we have Saharanpur University, roads are being constructed all around and development is visible everywhere. He also mentioned the loan waiver of farmers and claimed that his government waived loans of over 75,000 farmers. He also claimed that over two crore toilets for the poor were constructed and electricity was provided to every household.
Yogi also said that the opposition has raised questions on the valour of the army. He said that stone pelters have disappeared in Kashmir in the rule of Modi. We have broken the backbone of Pakistan by conducting the air strike in Balakot but opposition is raising questions on it. He said that JeM chief Masood Azhar will be killed like Osama bin Laden.
